You will never guess how I ended up shooting this Mountaintop Anniversary Session in North Carolina!
When my friend Kinsey was visiting, we had no idea we would get to do an epic mountaintop anniversary session! She is from South Dakota I tried to pack in ALL my favorite things in just a few days. I took her to Nashville and we explored East Nashville and the Gulch. Kinsey LOVES murals and shopping so that’s what we focused on while in Nashville. Next time she comes I will have to make sure she gets to experience the music that makes Nashville known for being Music City!
After spending a day in Nashville we headed back to Chattanooga to crash for the night. The next morning we woke up super early and headed towards the mountains I call home, The Great Smoky Mountains. We visited Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and then headed to catch sunset at my favorite spot.
Kinsey doesn’t find herself on a bald mountain or hanging in a creek bed often, but I think she enjoyed her time with me.
Kinsey and I hiked up to this overlook of the smoky/ blue ridge mountains with no intention of taking photos really. We threw our cameras in our bags just in case (if you are a photographer you know understand…ha!) and made the trek up. Right when we got up there we were SO excited that we brought our cameras because the sunset was EPIC. I started looking around for a cute/nice looking couple to approach to ask to take pictures. I will occasionally do this if I find myself in an epic situations and there are people around. We saw Kathryn and Ken. struck up small talk, and offered them a mountaintop anniversary session right then. And as if the sunset wasn’t beautiful enough God gave us a FULL rainbow.
Kathryn + Ken were celebrating their anniversary by camping. I immediately knew Kathryn and I would be friends because they were camping and she was wearing chacos! Which are my FAVORITE shoes. There is a 95% chance if your wedding is in the summer months I will be wearing them at your wedding!
Thankful for this mountain top anniversary session, our new friends Kathryn and Ken, and for the adventures with Kinsey.
