Intimate Nashville Micro Wedding

Cheekwood Wedding

  Cheekwood Estate & Gardens

Wisteria Arbor | Nashville, Tennessee

Jordan and Lacey’s wedding was the most beautiful and intimate  Nashville micro wedding at the beautiful Cheekwood Estate & Gardens .They were surrounded by only their immediate family members and their private ceremony was incredibly special!

After the wedding, Lacey announced their marriage and captioned some pictures by saying “Home is wherever I’m with you-

Jordan Milleville”. Not only is that super sweet, but also it also related perfectly to the day and its location. As we were on the grounds of this beautiful mansion I started to think about how once upon a time this mansion and property were a place someone called home. I quickly did a little research and learned that the estate is called Cheekwood because Mr. Cheek combined his last name with his wive’s maiden name- “Wood”. It became known at the Cheekwood Estate.

The Origin of Cheekwood

What is one to do if a singular piece of furniture is too big to fit in one’s home? Build a bigger house, of course! The origin of Cheekwood, as a concept, is traced to a family story involving Mabel Cheek making sure her husband, Leslie Cheek, Sr., kept his word to build a bigger house that could hold a gilt mirror, too tall for their current home in the 1920s. Cheek allegedly told his wife, “I suppose we will have to either sell the mirror or a build a house to fit it in.” After reciting these options, the couple set out to combine their tastes, interests, and family names “Cheek” and “Wood,” the maiden name of Mabel Cheek, into the design of a grand estate, to be called “Cheekwood.”  (Cheekwood.org)

Lacey and Jordan’s love outgrew their now prior dating relationship and decided to build a bigger house for their love- marriage. ❤️   I pray that the house they build upon and the love that grows within would maintain the same kind of views that Cheekwood Estate + Gardens do. Pristine and protected.  Read more about the views at Cheekwood and how they are protected by Mr. Cheeks’ foresight of the surrounding state parks- meaning that nearly 75% of the original views are intact still today!!

It was absolutely an honor to be there to capture this intimate Nashville micro wedding and the beginning of the house Jordan and Lacey are building together.
